In our latest Currency Matters publication we discuss the lull before the storm as September kicks off a lot of central bank meetings. How they respond to second round inflation risk and higher energy prices is still important to all markets, including FX.
The MoF/BoJ and US Treasury intervened in the FX market to bolster the JPY recently. This may be the start of a long process to turn the JPY trend around. We still favour Y125 and lower!
On our chart view Cable is potentially forming a long-term base, EUR/USD upside beckons, while the CHF may be mixed but the AUD, NZD and CAD have room to firm.
