In our latest Weekly Talking Points we look at the US employment report for May out on Friday which will give an important measure of the state of the economy. The Fed will key off the jobless rate, nonfarm payrolls and average earnings.


Our review section looks at headlines from the US war on Iran, energy prices, bond yields and surging equity market indices. Economic data saw US inflation readings remain elevated with rate hike bets brought forward to January 2027. The US 2-yr. note yield is looked at as well as the fed funds range of 3.5%-3.75% is not serving as much of an anchor these days.
